Track 1:  AVE MARIA CLOUDS

This version of Ave Maria was composed by both J.S. Bach and Charles Gounod. The other-worldly instrumentation is based on a Prelude by Bach. The flowing, streaming melody was later added by Gounod. The combination of old and new creates a timeless soundscape.

Track 2: AVE MARIA AURORA

The most famous version of Ave Maria was composed by Franz Schubert. The winding vocal music weaves through sounds of organ, harp, and orchestra. This Ave Maria tells a story of need and relief.

Track 3: AVE MARIA MOON

Paolo Tosti composed this rare setting of the prayer. It evokes the sounds of a single person quietly but despairingly saying a prayer in an old Italian church as moon light arrives.

Track 4: AVE MARIA GALAXY

A very modern take on Giulio Caccini's baroque song. While this song was composed in the 1500s, Glenn  Fernandez brings it to the modern era with a space-like and epic soundscape.

Track 5: PANIS ANGELICUS

Composed by Cesar Franck, this song tells the story of heavenly intervention. The food of the Angels becomes the food of humankind.

Track 6: COMFORT YE

From George F. Handel's famous oratorio, The Messiah. The sparse chordal progressions of the piano gives this version a contemporary feel, while Glenn Fernandez's soaring voice creates a stream of legato melody.

Track 7: EV'RY VALLEY

From George F. Handel's famous oratorio, The Messiah. The music of the baroque era likes to display vocal fireworks with fast moving notes that scale up and down the landscape just like the mountains depicted in this song.

​

Track 8: YE PEOPLE REND YOUR HEARTS

From Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio, Elijah. This song asks us to look within our souls to find God's forgiveness. It acts as a quick introduction to the following track.

Track 9: IF WITH ALL YOUR HEARTS

From Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio, Elijah. The simple melody of this song carries a simple message: Follow your heart.

Track 10: FORWARD INTO LIGHT

Charles Ives creates a hymn that inspires up to look upward. What starts out as a simple song transforms into an energetic layering of sounds designed to push the listener onward.

Basia's virtuosic keyboard skills create the wonderful soundscape of the album. Basia was born and raised in Poland.  At the age of five, she began to study music at the I. J. Paderewski Music School.  Music became a big part of Ms. Basia's life: music theory, aural skills, movement, choir and piano lessons were integrated into her daily schooling.  Basia continued higher education in the U.S. when she moved at the of fourteen.  In 2009, she moved to Los Angeles, CA, where she performs as a collaborator. www.basiaspianostudio.com
